Letter to those who can’t repeople the earth

11 Feb

I think about carnal pleasures (most of the times) and look around and feel certain that something tragic is well on its way. All of this is easy to say in recollection, and I am not claiming prophecy. I am not playing made up fortune teller. I do feel, though, and I believe it’s true, that tragedies- all kinds of disasters- are always coiled up and ready to come, and that the happening of them has been scheduled, someone, long in advance.

I don’t know when it will come or what form it would take, nor do I know that no man can give another safety in it.

There will always be one final everything– the last word, of course, the last blink of an eye; there will be one last blog entry you write, the last log-in or log-out click, one last emoticon you will use. There will be a last time you can open the fridge, a last movie you will see, a last time you ride in a jeepney with nostalgic songs. It doesn’t matter how many coins you throw into the wishing well or how many times you kneel down a prayer in a day. You will make one last photograph, and be photographed one final time by somebody else; there will be one last time you will walk on a particular street, one last time you will go out from your house or come back into it. You will have one last beer, one last dream, one last orgasm, one last cigarette. There will be one final time you will see or will be seen by the man or the woman you have loved, or the people you have known, unless, of course, you outlive them all, which is unlikely.

You will lick one last stamp for the last letter you made.

I hope you won’t miss it. But you won’t know it when you do.

      • Suckingbird Keller February 12, 2010 at 4:20 am #

        1. educate yourself about the nature of acquiring the virus
        2. know your partner
        3. safe sex
        4. no to multiple partners

reading this made me sad. before reading this post, i was crying over a movie i watched but i did not even think it’ll be the last. abstain dots! haha. anyway, i hope (and i pray) the spread of this disease lessens asap. pero alam kong mahirap kasi naman ano. you know na diba? kaya naman abstain muna tayo ngayon. 🙂

it won’t be a problem if we can find someone clean and closer to innocence. but let’s face it…. it’s hard!

      • vince February 11, 2010 at 9:35 am #

        it’s harder here. :p

it’s hard when it’s hard and you can’t do anything about the hardness.

          • Suckingbird Keller February 12, 2010 at 4:20 am #

            it’s a different hardness dear 🙂

We’ve only got to remember the abc’s of sex. Abstinence, Be mutually exclusive or Correct and consistent condom use, otherwise known as Careful sex. Three choices that we can do to prevent getting infected with HIV. It’s fairly easy. HIV need not be frightening if we are well informed.

    mind boggling for the news.

sweet escape for the death part.

    • Suckingbird Keller February 12, 2010 at 4:32 am #

i still have much sympathy for the dying.. but higher respect for the living.

      • aksoriyalmo February 12, 2010 at 11:19 am #

because i am weird, this post for me is lotsa death topic.

and death topic overwhelms the hiv virus.

‘Of infected males, most were homosexuals and heterosexuals’

Okay. So should I assume that bisexuals are a little more resistant to HIV? I mean, meron pa bang iba? Medyo nalabuan ako don, lalo na for a news this serious.

    • Suckingbird Keller February 12, 2010 at 4:28 am #

you have to remember that our society (phil society) has little knowledge about bisexuality.. so the extremes are str8s and homos.

      • aksoriyalmo February 12, 2010 at 11:20 am #

vajarl, that’s what i wanted to comment a day back.

homo vs hetero. as if they could elaborate that part seriously. haha.

    • Vajarl February 12, 2010 at 12:25 pm #

Baka naniniwala sila sa kanta ng mga bata:

Tao, hayop, bakla, tomboy, butiki, baboy.

Pero nasan ang hetero dyan? Ibig bang sabihin pag hetero ka isa kang butiki o baboy? Haha.

      • Suckingbird Keller February 12, 2010 at 12:39 pm #

natawa ako dun. epal ka tlga vajarl.

wag kumuha ng lesson sa mga pinaggawa ng mga bata. hihi

    • pengmolano February 13, 2010 at 4:24 am #

    • Suckingbird Keller February 12, 2010 at 4:30 am #

we also have to know that AIDS is not a sole disease. it is more of a complication or aggravation of the diseases one has.
